Rinse the stain using hot water. Then, let soak for an hour in water with Persil ProClean detergent. If color remains, launder with Persil Power-Pearls. Do not dry fabric if any stain remains. Instead, rub with lemon and lay in the sun to help remove any traces of color that remains.

  • Tea

    When tea time takes a spill for the worse, Persil has your back. As soon as you notice a tea spill, flush stain with cool water. Pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid, and wash with Persil ProClean detergent. For white garments, wash using Persil Power-Pearls with Pro-White Technology.

  • Wing Sauce

    When you’re craving wings, don’t be afraid to chow down. They’ll “hit the spot” and we’ll hit the stains. Rinse in warm water. Apply Persil ProClean Liquid detergent to the stain and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Then launder with the warmest water recommended on the garment label.

Outdoors

  • Garden Soil (dry dirt)

    Brush off excess soil. Pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid detergent, then launder in warm water.

  • Grass

    Pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid detergent, then launder with detergent (Persil Power-Liquid, Power-Pearls, or Power-Caps). If stain remains, launder with bleach in warm water (for whites).

  • Mud

    Let stain dry, then brush off mud. Let soak overnight in water with Persil Power-Pearls or Persil Power-Liquid detergent. Pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid detergent, then launder in warm water.

  • Pollen

    Never rub pollen with your hand or a cloth. Take the fabric outside and shake off the pollen or use a piece of tape to pick up the pollen grains. Soak the garment in cold water for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Repeat these two steps until most of the stain has been removed. If stain is still present, apply Persil Power-Liquid Sensitive Skin detergent and wash garment in hot water.

  • Rust

    Apply a commercial rust remover or rub with a fresh cut lemon. Allow to dry in the sun, repeat if necessary. Do not use chlorine bleach on rust.

Personal

  • Blood

    Soak stain in cold water for 10 minutes. Pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid detergent, then launder with any detergent (Persil Power-Liquid, Power-Pearls, or Power-Caps).

  • Cosmetics

    Perfecting your look may come with a bit of trial and error. So when your make-up mishaps end up on towels or attire, use Persil to help fight back. Remove non-oily make up stains, like eye shadow and blush, by lightly brushing the powder off of the clothing. Next blot the spot with a damp cloth or a baby wipe. Launder as normal. Pretreat with Persil ProClean on oily makeup stains, first. Lightly blot until the stain is removed. Launder as usual after the stain is removed. Remove more stubborn stains by rubbing in mineral oil to loosen up really tough makeup stains. Let the oil sit on the spot for about 20 minutes. Please be sure to test in an inconspicuous area before committing to trying this to remove Makeup stain. Once completing the steps above, you can then launder the stained garment. DO NOT DRY until the stain is out. Drying will set the stain. For any shades of lipstick that make it onto your clothing, follow these tips for help getting out that stain: Place stain face down on clean paper towels. Sponge area with a small amount of detergent. Replace towels frequently. Then rub Persil ProClean detergent into stain until outline of the stain is removed; launder as usual. If stain remains, repeat process.

  • Deodorant Stains/Residue

    Presoak stain with Persil Power-Pearls. Launder as usual.

  • Face Paint

    Face painting fun can cause some colorful stains. To help manage the mess, use Persil. Run warm water through the back side of the stain. Apply Persil ProClean Liquid detergent to the front of the stain and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Then launder with the warmest water recommended on the garment label. Evaluate the stained area before placing the article in the dryer. Repeat pretreating if there is a residual stain.

  • Nail Polish/Enamel

    Place stain face down on paper towels and blot with nail polish remover. Replace paper towels regularly. Repeat until stain disappears, then rinse and launder with detergent (Persil Power-Liquid, Power-Pearls, or Power-Caps).

  • Dirt on Socks

    Remove any loose particles. Soak stain in cold water for 10 minutes with Persil Power-Pearls. Launder with any detergent (Persil Power-Liquid, Power-Pearls, or Power-Caps).

  • Sunscreen

    While you’re protecting your skin with sunscreen, let Persil protect your clothes. Go on, lather on that SPF. For sunscreen stains, pretreat with a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water. Then, pretreat with Persil ProClean detergent and launder in the warmest water recommended on the garment. Check after washing for any traces of stain. Repeat if necessary.

  • Sweat/Perspiration

    Pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid detergent, then launder in hot water.

Household

  • Candle Wax

    Candlelit dinners and birthday cake wishes can often leave behind wax stains. With Persil in the laundry room, candle wax drips don’t need to dampen your day. Here’s how to help tackle that mess: Harden wax with ice, then remove surface wax with a dull knife. Place wax stain between clean paper towels and press with a warm iron. Replace paper towels regularly to absorb more wax and to prevent transferring the stain. Once most of the wax is absorbed into the towel, sponge remaining stain with a small amount of detergent; then blot with paper towel. Let dry, wash with Persil ProClean detergent.

  • Dye Transfer Stains

    Remove stains with a commercial color remover. Launder as usual with detergent (Persil Power-Liquid, Power-Pearls, or Power-Caps). If stain remains, repeat laundering process.

  • Mechanical Grease

    For light grease stains, pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid detergent, then wash in warm water. For heavy stains, place garment face down on clean paper towels. Apply Persil Power-Liquid to back of stain. Blot with paper towels, replacing towels frequently. Let air dry; rinse. Wash in warm water.

  • Motor Oil

    Pretreat stain with Persil Power-Liquid detergent, then wash in warm water. Do not wash with any other garments.

  • Pet Stains

    Rinse with cold water. Pretreat with a detergent that contains enzymes (Persil Power-Liquid detergent), then soak in cold water for 30 minutes. Launder with detergent (Persil Power-Liquid, Power-Pearls, or Power-Caps) in hot water.

Arts/Crafts

  • Molding Clay

    Scrape off clay. Pretreat stain with rubbing alcohol and rub. Pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid detergent, then launder in warm water.

  • Crayon

    Harden crayon wax with ice, then remove surface wax with a dull knife. Place crayon stain between clean paper towels and press with a warm iron. Replace paper towels regularly to absorb more wax and prevent transferring of stain. Once most of the wax is absorbed into the towel, sponge remaining stain with Persil Power-Liquid detergent, then blot with paper towel. Let dry, then wash with detergent (Persil Power-Liquid, Power-Pearls, or Power-Caps) in warm water. If color remains, re-launder with color safe bleach.

  • Glue

    Arts and crafts time keeps the kids busy but can also create some sticky situations. When it looks like glue is getting the best of you, trust Persil for help tackling that stain. Apply ice to the adhesive to harden, scrape with a dull knife. Saturate with a small amount of detergent. Then wash with Persil ProClean detergent. If further treatment is necessary, repeat using a commercial gum/adhesive remover.

  • Ink

    Place stain face down on white paper towels. Sponge with rubbing or denatured alcohol (hair spray usually works well). Then rinse and launder with detergent (Persil Power-Liquid, Power-Pearls, or Power-Caps). Magic Marker or felt tip pin stains are very difficult to remove. Try flushing with cold water until pigments are removed; then rub Persil Power-Liquid detergent into stain. Rinse and repeat process until most of the stain is removed. Then add 1-4 tablespoons of household ammonia (per quart of water) to warm sudsy water. Soak garment for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, then launder in the warm water.

  • Permanent Marker/Dry Erase Marker

    Place the clothing on top of a clean white towel. Blot rubbing alcohol onto the stain. The towel underneath will become wet and discolored from the ink. Move the garment to a clean, dry section of the towel as this happens. Next, make a paste of Persil Power-Pearls and water and brush into the stain. Then wash with detergent (Persil Power-Liquid, Power-Pearls, or Power-Caps) as usual.

  • Paint

    For Water-Based Paint (including latex acrylic) - Rinse stain in warm water. Pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid detergent and launder. For Oil-Based Paints (including varnish) - Gently blot the stain with the solvent (thinner) listed on the paint label. Rinse, then pretreat with Persil Power-Liquid detergent and launder.

  • Permanent Marker

    It’s easy to mistake a sharpie for washable marker, but it’s not so simple to get permanent marker out of your new favorite shirt. Persil can help tame an arts-n-crafts project gone wild, here’s how: Before washing or pretreating your garment, try using rubbing alcohol to remove stain. First, place garment on top of a clean white towel or a stack of paper towels and test a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a hidden, inside spot on the garment. If safe, blot rubbing alcohol onto the stain. Then, move the garment to a clean dry section of the towel. Once you’ve done this, gently rub stain with Persil Power-Liquid. Then wash with Persil ProClean detergent as usual.

  • Super Glue

    Super glue can be a super pain, when it ends up in the wrong place. If you need help fighting this tough product, use Persil to get you out of the mess. Start by rubbing the stain with warm water and Persil ProClean detergent. If the stain is not removed then pretreat with acetone (nail polish remover), test in an inconspicuous area as this may damage the fabric. Then pretreat with Persil ProClean detergent, and launder in the warmest water recommended on the garment label. If needed, repeat.

In general, keep these important cautions in mind when applying laundry tips:

·         Avoid cleaning wool, acrylic, and silk with laundry products containing enzymes.
·         Always follow garment label instructions when pretreating and laundering your clothes.
·         For colored garments, test an inside seam for colorfastness.
·         Only follow stain instructions if the garment is washable.
·         If dry clean only, take it to the dry cleaner for stain removal.
