Clay

Scrape/brush off clay. Pretreat with Persil® ProClean® liquid detergent, then launder in warm water.

Crayon

Harden crayon wax with ice, then remove surface wax with a dull knife. Place crayon stain between clean paper towels and press with a warm iron. Replace paper towels regularly to absorb more wax and prevent transferring of stain. Once most of the wax is absorbed into the towel, sponge remaining stain with Persil® ProClean® liquid detergent, then blot with paper towel. Let dry, then wash with detergent (Persil® ProClean® liquid detergent or Persil Discs) in warm water. If color remains, re-launder with color safe bleach.

Glue

Arts and crafts time keeps the kids busy but can also create some sticky situations. When it looks like glue is getting the best of you, trust Persil® for help tackling that stain. Apply ice to the adhesive to harden, scrape with a dull knife. Saturate with a small amount of detergent. Then wash with Persil® ProClean® detergent. If further treatment is necessary, repeat using a commercial gum/adhesive remover.

Ink

Place stain face down on white paper towels. Sponge with rubbing or denatured alcohol (Aerosol hair spray usually works well). Then rinse and launder with Persil® detergent. Magic Marker or felt tip pen ink stains are very difficult to remove. Try flushing with cold water until pigments are removed; then rub Persil® ProClean® liquid detergent into stain. Rinse and repeat process until most of the stain is removed. Then add 1-4 tablespoons of household ammonia (per quart of water) to warm sudsy water. Soak garment for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, then launder in the warm water. DO NOT mix with chlorine bleach.

For Water-Based Paint (including latex acrylic) - Rinse stain in warm water. Pretreat with Persil® ProClean® liquid detergent and launder. For Oil-Based Paints (including varnish) - Gently blot the stain with the solvent (thinner) listed on the paint label. Rinse, then pretreat with Persil® ProClean® liquid detergent and launder.

Permanent Marker

Super Glue

Super glue can be a super pain, when it ends up in the wrong place. If you need help fighting this tough product, use Persil® to get you out of the mess. Start by rubbing the stain with warm water and Persil® ProClean® detergent. If the stain is not removed then pretreat with acetone (nail polish remover), test in an inconspicuous area as this may damage the fabric. Then pretreat with Persil® ProClean® detergent, and launder in the warmest water recommended on the garment label. If needed, repeat.
